Refrigerators are an important part of our everyday life. They are not just used at home but also on a commercial level and as for an admin officer like me, it was quite stressful to find the right commercial chiller in Singapore for our workspace. There is an extensive range of refrigerators which are designed to satisfy a variety of demands. For my company consisting of roughly 150 people that have five pantries to eat at, I had to find the most efficient refrigerator option there is; amongst many other things I know finding the perfect chiller is more crucial than the other appliances inside a pantry.

For someone like me, I never gave any thought about how they differ actually. To me, both preserve food and chill drinks, same same no difference. So what are the differences between chillers and freezers?
I almost gave out a “silly-me” laugh because they differ with their temperatures. Chillers chill and freezers freeze. It was quite a laugh and it was a relief that the expert made the conversation light.
So, now the difference lies only in the cooling ranges and the cooling materials. Chillers cool liquids only and in the temperature range of 7 to -1 degree celsius. Freezer cools anything that is kept within an enclosed area up to -20 to -35 degree celsius. Almost the same with the technology they are using with the production of ice-making machines in Singapore, refrigerators extract heat from the freezer but the range is only up to 3 to 5-degree celsius. But in most of the refrigerators, there is a separate compartment given on the top which is Freezer that can cool up to -30 degree celsius but the entire system is called a refrigerator only.

They told me that it is important to keep our Flomatic refrigerators properly clean so that it is hygienic to store food products. We need to fully and completely clean the interior of the freezer at least once a month. Take all the goods along with shelves and thoroughly clean the appliance. We can get rid of bad odours and spills by using a solution of water and baking soda water and vinegar. To keep the exterior of the refrigerator clean, we should wipe it every week. We should also clean the evaporator coils and compressors so we can function efficiently and consume little electricity. When we are cleaning the cover and vents of the refrigerator, we need to unplug the appliance. We can use the hose of the vacuum cleaner to clean the vents and coils. It will ensure that there is no dust present on the coils or in the vents. If we are washing them, then make sure that they are thoroughly dried before plugging the appliance again.
The whole experience for me was smooth and easy, something that I consider rare for being an admin officer but Flomatic Industries came through!
