Reasons Why I Chose to Buy a Condo

· Condominium,Real Estate,Singapore

My mom has always been against the way I view things today. Maybe it's the generational gap or maybe I simply want to be independent and alone. Anyways, she wasn't thrilled when I told her I purchased a condo.

Buying a condo is a great choice for those who either want to scale down a bit or can’t purchase the house of their dreams or those who want to save up for the long-term while reaping the benefits of good living conditions. While renting a condo has its advantages and merits, it is not a long-term solution. I still want a house of my own by a lake. However, by purchasing a condo and making an investment, I made a sound contribution to my own as well as my family’s future (even if my mom frowned at my decision when she accompanied me to the viewing of Treasure at Tampines showflat). Purchasing a condo first and a house later will make the entire transition much simpler and easier.

Here are the reasons why I purchased a condo:

It is a long-term investment

Of course, those people who do not want to deal with all the aspects of house upkeep can always rent an apartment. However, the problem here I feel like I am throwing away my money on rents. By purchasing a nice condo, I have had an excellent place to live, while at the same time still enjoying all the conveniences of an apartment.

No upkeep required

One of the key reasons why so many people look to buy condos these days is a simple fact that condos do not require the same amount and type of upkeep as owning a house does. If you are someone who just hates repainting the walls, pulling weeds, mowing the lawn, or some other chores that come with being a homeowner, buying a Treasure at Tampines condo would be the smartest of decisions. Additionally, many people simply lack the time to properly maintain their households due to their professional or private obligations. With this in mind, a condo comes across not only as an affordable but also as a practical solution.

More space at a lower price

Usually, purchasing a condo is a great alternative for those who are looking for a large real estate, but who do not have the funds to make the purchase. If you want to buy a 2.500 square foot home, you will probably strain your budget too much. On the other hand, you will most likely afford a condo that provides 2.500 square feet of available space. These days, you can easily find excellent deals in the condo market, which savvy shoppers happily take advantage of.

Socialization

If you want to expand your circle of friends and socialize more, there is hardly a better alternative than buying and living in a condo. Don’t forget that when you purchase a condo, you also purchase into a particular community. With this in mind, buying a condo can quickly and easily provide you with a whole new group of people that you can meet and befriend. Compared to when I was living in a so-so apartment alone, living in a condo gave me a few clubs and associations to join in. Now, I am enjoying being part of Treasure at Tampine’s bikers club.

Very little maintenance

When you purchase a house, you enter the world that encompasses a lot of maintenance tasks. Now, I simply take my trash downstairs, and that's it. You will have to take care of your roof, the driveway, yard, windows, plumbing, and pretty much everything else associated with homeownership. All of this can be quite expensive and time-consuming. On the other hand, when owning a condo, you will have to take care of everything that happens in your unit, while the homeowner’s association will handle all the exterior maintenance responsibilities.

Enjoying extra amenities

Condo residents often have ample amenities just outside their doors, as many developments include features like pools, party rooms and workout facilities without the extra costs of ownership or the headaches of maintenance. Treasure at Tampines condo owners may also have the added benefit of security measures that are provided for residents so that they feel safe, even if they are living alone.

Conclusion

I understand that all of us differ in our state of living beliefs. Some people prefer to stay with their folks until they are married and settled. However, I always believed in forging my path. Although many people anticipate buying a single-family house when considering their next home purchase, a condominium could make more sense depending on your situation and finances. For many potential homeowners, condo living has several overlooked benefits. Don't let the preconceived notions like my mother's affect your options.
