Industrial wirings are composed of electrical panel components that are used for powering up large pieces of manufacturing equipment, lightings, and switch sockets. The wirings are quite complicated compared to the ones that are used for residential properties because industrial plants use a “3-phase” electrical power. To make sure your electrical systems work properly, you must maintain these essential industrial electrical panel components:

1. Circuit Breaker

Industrial electrical systems have switchboard components like circuit breakers that can help prevent exploding wires. This is because it detects if an electrical overload is about to occur. If it does, the circuit breaker stops the flow of current to avoid damages.

2. Fuse

It is another essential electrical switchboard component because, just like the circuit breaker, it can avoid excess current or electrical overload disasters. However, the difference between the fuse and the circuit breaker is that the former can only be used once.

3. Transformer

It would be ideal to reduce the voltage of some industrial wirings to make the main control panel more efficient and usable to almost all equipment and devices. One of the most common conversions is from 420V AC to 120V AC.

4. Disconnect Switch

This is important when maintaining or repairing your industrial electrical wiring. You’ll have to shut down the manufacturing plant’s main power first, and you can only do it if you have a disconnect switch installed.

5. PLC

PLC or Programmable Logic Controller is used to control moving equipment that has high vibrations and noise. It’s like an intelligence device which uses computer languages to take control. Thanks to it, it is easier to operate the entire manufacturing process.

6. Terminal Blocks

These are used to connect all the wires and devices to the industrial plant’s control panel. Both can be used for internal connections and field components.

It is better to have a stock of these essential industrial electrical panel components just in case one of them breaks down unexpectedly. If ever you need to buy one right away, check out ASTA Electrical (S) now!
